# Nepal Trek Permits Guide

Most Nepal treks require permits. Here is what you need for each region.

## TIMS Card (Trekkers Information Management System)

Required for most treks. Two types:
– **Individual TIMS** — for solo/independent trekkers
– **Group TIMS** — for organised groups (through agency)

Get it at the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or Pokhara, or through your trekking agency.

## National Park / Conservation Permits

– **Sagarmatha National Park** — for Everest region
– **Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP)** — for Annapurna region
– **Langtang National Park** — for Langtang region
– **Manaslu Conservation Area (MCAP)** — for Manaslu region

## Restricted Area Permits

Some areas require special permits and a registered guide:
– **Manaslu** — $70/week (Sep–Nov), $50/week (Dec–Aug)
– **Upper Mustang** — $500 for 10 days
– **Upper Dolpo** — $500 for 10 days
– **Tsum Valley** — $35/week (Sep–Nov)
– **Kanchenjunga** — $20/week

## What to Bring

– Passport (with Nepal visa)
– Passport photos (4–6)
– Permit fee (cash, NPR or USD)

## Tip

Your trekking agency can arrange all permits for you. If trekking independently, get permits in Kathmandu or Pokhara before starting.
