# Langtang Trek Packing List

The Langtang Valley trek is the closest major trek to Kathmandu, reaching Kyanjin Ri at 4,779m. It is lower and shorter than EBC, but still needs proper gear.

## Clothing

– Merino base layer
– Fleece
– Down jacket (for Kyanjin Ri mornings) — **rent**
– Waterproof shell — **rent**
– Trekking trousers x2
– Beanie, sun hat, gloves

## Sleeping & Backpack

– Sleeping bag -5°C (Langtang is lower, but teahouses are still cold)
– 25L daypack (you can carry your own gear here, no porter needed)

## Accessories

– Trekking poles
– Headlamp
– Sunglasses (Cat 3 is enough here)
– Water filter
– First aid kit

## Why Langtang

Closer to Kathmandu (a day’s drive), less crowded, beautiful tamang culture, and lower altitude means a lighter pack. A great first Himalayan trek.
